Job Description

Construction Repair Technician – Skilled Trades

SERVPRO of Adamstown / York City

Full-Time | $25–$30 per hour, based on experience

SERVPRO is looking for an experienced, well-rounded Construction Repair Technician to join our growing reconstruction and restoration team.

This is not a general labor position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, takes pride in their craftsmanship, and has experience completing a variety of residential and commercial repairs.

The primary responsibility of this position will be completing reconstruction and repair projects, while also assisting our mitigation division when skilled trade work is needed.

Typical Reconstruction Work Projects will commonly include:

  • Drywall installation, patching, finishing, and repairs
  • Interior painting and touch-up work
  • Baseboard, casing, and other finish trim installation
  • Door and hardware installation
  • LVP, laminate, and other flooring installation and repairs
  • Minor framing and carpentry
  • Cabinetry and countertop detach/reset or installation
  • Punch-list and warranty repairs
  • Small residential and commercial reconstruction projects
  • Other general construction repairs as needed

Experience in additional trades such as tile, cabinetry, light plumbing, light electrical, framing, or finish carpentry is required.

Mitigation & Restoration Support

Because SERVPRO is a restoration company, this position will also assist our mitigation crews when skilled construction experience is needed. This may include:

  • Emergency repairs and temporary stabilization
  • Board-ups and securing damaged structures
  • Controlled demolition and material removal
  • Detaching building materials or fixtures to facilitate mitigation
  • Minor framing or structural repairs
  • Assisting with specialty construction-related tasks following water, fire, mold, or storm damage
  • Helping our mitigation and reconstruction teams move projects forward efficiently

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who can walk into a smaller repair project, understand what needs to be done, and complete quality work independently.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • 3+ years of residential or commercial construction/remodeling experience
  • Strong drywall finishing and repair skills
  • Interior painting experience
  • Finish carpentry and trim experience
  • Flooring installation experience
  • Ability to perform accurate measurements and material takeoffs
  • Ability to troubleshoot construction problems in the field
  • Comfortable working independently or alongside a larger crew
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and project managers
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
  • Ability to lift construction materials and perform physically demanding work

Experience in restoration or insurance reconstruction is helpful but not required.

Compensation

$25–$30 per hour , based on experience and demonstrated skill level.

Higher compensation may be considered for candidates with strong multi-trade experience who can independently complete projects from start to finish.

This is a full-time position with steady year-round work and the opportunity to become an important part of a growing construction and restoration operation.

Why This Position Is Different

This role offers significantly more variety than working in a single construction trade.

One day may involve completing drywall, trim, and paint repairs on an insurance reconstruction project, while another may involve helping secure a property following a fire or completing repairs needed to keep a mitigation project moving.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with their hands, and seeing a project through to completion.

If you're a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality work and would like a steady position with a growing restoration and construction company, we'd like to hear from you.
