Saw FilerThe location in Glenwood, (Arkansas, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Saw Filer. This job is full-time permanent.RESPONSIBILITIESSupporting and safely executing the saw filing activities for our lumber manufacturing facility.Inspecting, sharpening, and assisting in replacing large saws in the sawmill.Safely filling and maintaining band saws and circle saws, performing machine alignment, maintaining saw filing equipment, and preventive maintenance procedures.Inspecting equipment for signs of wear/damage and recognizing unsafe conditions.Maintaining saw guides.Troubleshooting knife, circle saws, band saws, and guide problems.Sharpening, repairing, and maintaining circular saws, band saws, and knives properly.Operating and understanding precision measuring and grinding equipment.Communicating respectfully with members of the production, shipping, and maintenance teams.Adhering to all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.Performing other duties when assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSRelevant experience working as a saw filer.Ability to operate a variety of sharpening machines and hand tools.WORKING CONDITIONSWhile performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling.Ability to climb stairs and may be required to move up to 50 pounds.While performing the duties of this job, regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.Occasionally may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.The noise level is usually loud.Exposure to high temperature in summer and cold temperature in winter.What you gain by working with us:Entry base pay - $28.44$2,000 Sign On Bonus for new hiresWeekly Attendance Bonus $2.00 per hourProduction Bonus – up to $3.00 per hourNight Shift differential - $1.00 per hourOpportunity for paid overtime at time and a half rateImmediately eligible for paid vacation12 paid holidays annuallyAffordable medical, dental, & vision coverage401k w/Company Match up to 4%401k Automatic Company Contribution up to 6.5%Company paid Life InsuranceCompany paid Short Term DisabilityCompany paid Long Term DisabilityEmployee assistance program for personnel and family membersSupport for training and developmentReferral Bonus – up to $1,000 per referral.Respectful, diverse, and inclusive work environmentYou will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).
